How to Watch Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ Inauguration Livestream Free

In less than a week, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will officially be sworn in as president and vice president of the United States.

The big day, which marks the end of President Donald Trump’s administration, is set for Wednesday, Jan. 20. Biden’s Inaugural Committee announced on Jan. 11 that event’s theme is #America United.

“At a time of unprecedented crisis and deep divisions, America United reflects the start of a new journey to restore the soul of America, bring the country together and create a path to a brighter future,” the committee said in a statement on Facebook.

While this year’s inauguration is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated in recent history, the event, however, will be much different from past ceremonies due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the recent attack on the U.S. Capitol that took place on Jan. 6. In light of recent events, Biden has asked that Americans watch him take the oath of office remotely as much of the ceremony will be available via livestream.

Where and when will the inauguration take place?

The 2021 presidential inauguration will take place at the U.S. Capitol at noon ET on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

How do I watch?

Coverage of the inauguration will begin at 9 a.m. ET and will be broadcast on every major network, including ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CNN, PBS, Telemundo, Univision and MSNBC. Viewers can also catch the ceremony via the official White House Website, the Biden Inaugural Committee’s YouTube livestream and on Facebook, Twitter as well as Amazon Prime Video.

Who is performing?

On Thursday, the Biden Inaugural Committee announced the event’s ceremony lineup, which includes an invocation by Fr. Leo O’Donovan and a reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance by Andrea Hall. Lady Gaga will then sing the National Anthem followed by a poetry reading by Amanda Gorman. Jennifer Lopez will then perform and Rev. Dr. Silvester Beaman will do the benediction.

Will there be a parade?

Due to the global health crisis, the inauguration committee will put on a virtual parade across America. The parade will be televised and “celebrate America’s heroes, highlight Americans from all walks of life in different states and regions and reflect on diversity, heritage, and resilience of the country as we begin a new American era,” a statement from the Biden Inaugural Committee reads.

Will there be a ball?

There will be no inaugural ball this year. Instead, a primetime special, titled “Celebrating America” that will spotlight American heroes will take place at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. The program will be hosted by Tom Hanks and will feature speeches from Biden and Harris. The special will also include performances by Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato and Justin Timberlake. “Celebrating America” will broadcast live on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC. It will also be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch.
