When you think of extremes, the food a three-starred Michelin chef who runs what has been named the number one restaurant in the world makes compared to what a college kid in a dorm makes are about as polar opposite as it gets. So when chef Eric Ripert and Jimmy Fallon showed up at a St. John's University dorm room to teach a group of college kids how to cook, Eric had to tone down his usual sophistication just a bit.

You can watch the full clip of Jimmy and Eric's takeover above, but first, there are some highlights we must share, starting with Eric pulling out a box of Cap'n Crunch and saying "they are stoners" in his charming French accent.

The whole schtick is Jimmy and Eric (ok, mostly Eric) will make a meal out of whatever is in the students' fridge. "It's like MacGyver meets Iron Chef," Jimmy says. For breakfast—or any meal, they all blend together in college—they came up with a Dormét Cheeto Omelet, made with eggs, a bag of Cheetos "for texture," salt, pepper, and butter. The eggs were microwaved, BTW, to which Eric joked he does not know how to use a microwave. I cannot relate.

Next they made Leftover Burger Bolognese with a cold burger, tomato soup, chicken flavoring, and served it over ramen noodles. The kids may not have known what bolognese was, but they do know "beef sauce." "We make that all the time!"

For dessert they created Mom's Ice Cream Sandwich using homemade cookies from someone's actual mom, ice cream, and melted M&M's. The verdict? "Very solid," an suspecting student said to a man whose prix fixe dinner starts at $165.

In the words of Eric, "Today I lost three stars." It's fine, he was KIDDING. Cooking with Cheetos is fun and you can't tell any of us otherwise!! Watch the video above to see the hilarious, baffled kids in action.
