You Can Watch Halo Season 2 For Free With Xbox Game Pass

The Halo TV series may have had a rough start, but Xbox wants to win fans over with a pretty sweet deal. Xbox Game Pass, hailed as the best deal in gaming, is expanding to movies and TV by giving subscribers a 30-day subscription trial to Paramount+. You know what that means — free Halo episode binging sessions!

Those with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription in the U.S. can get a 30-day subscription to a Paramount+ monthly standard plan. The deal is only available for new Paramount subscribers and needs to be claimed by April 4, 2024. After claiming the deal, users will have until May 10th to redeem it.

The deal will appear as a perk in the Xbox Game Pass app for PC, consoles, and Xbox mobile apps on iOS and Android. If you do redeem the perk and don't plan on sticking around after the month is up, make sure to cancel your auto-renewal on the Paramount website/app. After subscribing to Paramount+, viewers can watch other video game adaptations as well like Twisted Metal and the Sonic movies.

Halo season 2 will cover the events of the fall of Reach, a pivotal moment in the franchise’s lore, six months after the events of season 1. Of course, this being the Silver timeline, the events will be covered through a different lens with new developments previously unseen in the Halo games.

The second season of Halo premiered on Paramount Plus earlier this week and by all accounts is much better than its freshman season. Halo season 2 currently sits at an impressive 93% on Rotten Tomatoes with 15 reviews, but more surprisingly, it has an 80% approval from audience ratings. It looks like the folks at Paramount have figured out the balance between serving fans and making an approachable show for casual audiences.

As for games, Halo developer 343 Industries is reportedly working on the next franchise entry for Xbox consoles and PC. The last game, Halo: Infinite, was received well by critics and casual gamers alike, holding a respectable Metacritic rating of 87.
