Following a huge controversy that prompted stars to boycott the show, the Golden Globes got acquired by Dick Clark Productions, which means it's officially moving to a new network.

Another change? Fans can expect to see two new awards categories, including Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Stand-Up Comedian on Television. Keep reading for everything you need to know about how to watch the 2024 Golden Globes, with or without cable.
1. When Are the 2024 Golden Globes?

The 81st annual Golden Globes will take place on Sunday, January 7 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. The three-hour telecast will begin at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and end at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT, so set your DVRs.
2. How Do I Watch the Golden Globes?

Although the ceremony typically airs on NBC, the 81st Golden Globes will now be broadcast on CBS. Viewers can also tune into the live broadcast on the CBS app or stream it on Paramount+.
George Cheeks, president and chief executive officer of CBS, said in a statement, "Live entertainment and sports have been, and will always be, a hallmark of CBS, and the Globes adds an exciting new dimension to our first quarter schedule this year."

4. Who Is Hosting the Golden Globes?

The host of the 81st Annual Golden Globes has yet to be announced, but we'll keep our eyes peeled.
Last year, stand-up comedian and actor Jerrod Carmichael hosted the ceremony. During his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Carmichael discussed his pitches to NBC during the preparation process. He said, "I was like, 'OK, well, how about this? I'll just speak honestly and directly to the camera, and I'll talk about how I know the Globe's gone through a lot of controversy. They didn't air last year, and Hollywood Foreign Press Association didn't have any Black members.' And I said, 'How about I just speak truthfully about how much Black approval means to me?'"
"They said, 'OK, fine, you can do that. But could you smile while you say it? And I said, "Absolutely not."
5. When Will the Golden Globes Nominations be Announced?

According to Deadline, the Golden Globes nominations for the 2024 ceremony will be announced on Monday, December 11.
There's also no word on who will announce the nominees, but last year, Mayan Lopez and Selenis Leyva from NBC's Lopez vs. Lopez were joined by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's (HFPA) president, Helen Hoehne, to present the nominees.
6. Will There Be a Red-Carpet Broadcast?

Details haven't been confirmed just yet, but the 2024 Golden Globes will likely host a red-carpet ceremony, with coverage on CBS and, potentially, E!. We're just excited to see dozens of stars dressed to the nines.
