How to Watch the Golden Globes This Year

How to Watch the Golden Globes This Year

From Town & Country

The 2021 awards season is officially kicking off, with the Golden Globes already on the horizon. Though the criteria for the awards were changed slightly this year (the feature film eligibility window was altered to include any films which debuted from January 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021) and the ceremony itself was pushed back from its usual January slot, those craving a dose of good old Hollywood glam still have plenty to look forward to.

Here are all of the details we know so far about this year's ceremony.

How to watch

The 78th Golden Globes will air on February 28, from 8-11 p.m. eastern. The awards show will be held live on NBC; cord cutters can also watch through the NBC website or app as well as streaming services that host live NBC programming like Youtube TV and Hulu+ Live TV.

Who is hosting?

The dynamic duo of comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be returning for their fourth foray as Golden Globes hosts. They'll be keeping socially distant, with Fey broadcasting from the Rainbow Room in NYC and Poehler live from the Beverly Hilton, in Beverly Hills. Guests, nominees, and award winners will also be broadcasting remotely for the ceremony.

Will there be a red carpet?

Sad news for red carpet fashion fans: No red carpet programming has been announced, and due to the virtual nature of this year's awards show and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic it seems unlikely that there will be any kind of formal red carpet presentation. As has been the case with a number of award shows over the past year, it's likely that we'll see a mix of low key loungewear and over the top glam, with some of the star looks making their debuts on social media.
