  • Gabrielle loves working out, and tries to stay consistent with her fitness routine.

What's Gabrielle Union's secret to keeping workouts fun? Dance breaks. On Instagram today, she shared a video of herself dancing between exercise sets. Wearing a marine blue unitard that feels very '80s (and very on-trend), she recreated an iconic scene from season two of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

"On my original Aunt Viv ish for cardio today 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🤣🤣🤣 Every-body dance now!! #cheerstotheweekend🥂 workout gear deets: #NDYGO"

ICYMI: In season two, episode seven of Fresh Prince, Aunt Viv has a midlife crisis when she turns 40 and goes to a dance audition, which turns into a dance-off.

Union tagged the video at her "HOME GYM," where she's been doing all her workouts lately. She prefers morning workouts to afternoon or evening ones. “You know how you swing your legs off to the side of the bed?” she told Women's Health. “That’s when you really think about life’s decisions: How much would it cost if I cancel? What does traffic look like? Should I go back to sleep?

She's also careful to keep her workouts consistent, and said, "If I don't work out for two weeks, it's like I've never done anything, ever."

Pre-pandemic, she told WH, her workouts usually included 15 to 20 minutes of daily cardio (hence, the Aunt Viv dance), plus strength training and Pilates.

"The great thing about Pilates is that I can take out my annoyance from waking up early on the machines instead of human beings," she told WH. "It's for the greater good. My body responds to it, and I'm also more clear." (It doesn't look like she has her own Pilates machines in her home gym, but it's easy to recreate Pilates moves as bodyweight exercises.)

Even though she has her trusty standbys, she's not afraid to mix up her routine and try fitness trends and fas workouts as they get popular. "As the workout phases come and go, I'll try everything," she said.
