Watch Former Marine Adam Driver Surprise a Veteran's Family with a Scholarship

Adam Driver delivered a scholarship to a military family that will help their daughter study nursing. Watch the touching moment here.

Adam Driver may be known for his role as Kylo Ren in Star Wars, but acting wasn't his first job.

Driver is a former Marine, and he hasn't been shy about talking about his time in the military. The sweetest part about it, though, is that he uses his celebrity to give back, and he did just that with a military family this week.

The actor drove out to Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania to let the daughter of a military man know that she won a scholarship. The recipient, Hayley Williams, is the daughter of soldier John Williams, who was injured during training right before Operation Desert Storm.

Hayley's father John is such an inspiration to her that she chose to become a nurse and applied for the Folds of Honor Foundation scholarship and—spoiler alert—she won. The Williams family got the scholarship and a surprise visit from Driver himself. It was all captured in a video released by Budweiser, which helped fund the scholarship

"I understood where Hayley’s father, John, was coming from right away. John was injured right before being deployed. I was also injured right before deployment, so that sense of not finishing your job with the people you started with is something we connected on," Driver told the Huffington Post.

"Unfortunately, he is left with limited mobility and over the past 20 years, he has received multiple back surgeries to try to help. Despite his injuries, he works incredibly hard as a bus driver to support his family. Hayley’s father inspired her to become a nurse to help people just like him.… I felt very fortunate to be there and to help Hayley take the next step."

The Williams family seems to feel the love too. As the family recovered from the shock of the scholarship news and seeing a Hollywood star on their front porch, they started a group hug that was so emotional that Driver himself couldn't help but hop right in.

To call this a sweet moment would be an understatement.
