Watch the First Teaser Trailer For Disney's Live-Action "Mulan"

Let's get down to business.

The very first teaser for Disney’s live-action Mulan is finally here, and it’s clear we are in for one intense journey.

The 90-second trailer was released on Sunday, July 7, and introduces us to actor Liu Yifei as the title character. Between clips of gorgeous landscapes and hints of epic battles, we watch Mulan training to become a skilled warrior, transforming from a quiet daughter to a fierce fighter all in under two minutes. While there’s no outright singing, you can definitely hear snippets of the original Disney score in the trailer (the film’s director, Niki Caro, has stated that music would undoubtedly play an important role in the project).

Disney's upcoming live-action version of the 1998 animated film has been in production for years now, with its initial 2018 release date pushed back to spring 2020. In addition to the music factor, the reboot is set to contain some noticeable differences from the original; most notably, Mulan’s love interest, Li Shang, will not be making an appearance in the live-action edition. Instead, we’ll get to meet a new character named Chen Honghui, portrayed by Yoson An. No sight yet of Mushu, but fingers crossed we’ll see him in the next trailer (though there’s been rumors that the iconic dragon might be MIA from this version, welp).

Mulan also stars Jet Li, Jimmy Wong, Donnie Yen, and Gong Li. The film will officially hit theaters next year on March 27, 2020. Ahead, check out the trailer, and prepare to get down to business.
