Watch the First Gameplay Trailer for EA’s Long-Awaited ‘Dead Space’ Remake

EA and Motive Studio are giving gamers a first look at the remake of survival horror title, Dead Space, the first release in the series since 2013’s Dead Space 3. Reports about the forthcoming remake first began circulating over a year ago, following the success of EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The new Dead Space closely follows the same storyline as the 2008 original. Taking place in the 26th-century, Isaac Clarke works as a crew member on a repair vessel of a defunct planetary mining ship. Clarke is forced to defend himself after the ship is attacked by mutated human corpses and discover the secret behind the ship.

A new gameplay trailer previews the detailed futuristic environments of the Dead Space universe and some of the grotesque creatures that Clarke will be challenged to take on.

“The sci-fi survival horror classic Dead Space returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up to offer a deeper and more immersive experience,” EA describes. “This remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity and suspenseful atmospheric audio, as well as new gameplay content and improvements while staying faithful to the original game’s thrilling vision.”

One improvement coming to the game is an uninterrupted sequence format, devoid of loading screens, thanks to ninth generation consoles. Characters, assets and environments will be redesigned.

Clarke was silent in the 2008 original, but had a voice in Dead Space 2 and 3. The remake will see Mike Yazijan reprise his role as the voice behind Clarke.
