America's obsession with World War II clearly isn't going away any time soon. Case in point: Darkest Hour, a new film centering around Winston Churchill in the days immediately following his appointment as Prime Minister, when Great Britain was on the brink of a Nazi invasion.

Unlike season one of The Crown, in which audiences saw Churchill past his prime, the Joe Wright-directed drama will focus on the decisions - particularly whether the U.K. should sign a peace treaty with Nazi Germany or stand and fight - that made him a legend in the first place.

In the new trailer below, Gary Oldman (perhaps best known for his roles in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy) is utterly unrecognizable as the British Bulldog, as he rallies a nation during one of the most pivotal moments of modern British history.

Also starring Lily James and Ben Mendelsohn, Darkest Hour will hit theaters on November 22, 2017.
