Ryan Murphy has done it again. The esteemed writer, director, and producer responsible for the success of TV shows like Glee, American Horror Story, and The Watcher has the internet buzzing with talk of his latest dark yet glamorously twisted new project, Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans.

Now streaming on Hulu, the eight-episode anthology series is a totally unrelated follow-up to Murphy’s FX docudrama Feud: Bette and Joan, which chronicled the broken dynamic between Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange). Season 2 of Feud revolves around the enigmatic writer Truman Capote and his circle of female socialites portrayed by Hollywood legends like Diane Lane and Demi Moore, to name a few. So how does one watch Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans? And when do new episodes of Feud drop? Find everything to know about the undeniably posh new series below.

What Is Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans About?

TBH, fancy people love behaving badly. Based on author Laurence Learner’s bestselling book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song, Season 2 of Feud unpacks what happens to literary icon Truman Capote after he’s shunned from his group of rich, powerful, stunningly beautiful high-society female friends in New York. Here’s the synopsis:

“Acclaimed writer Truman Capote (Tom Hollander) surrounded himself with a coterie of society’s most elite women – rich, glamorous socialites who defined a bygone era of high society New York – whom he nicknamed “the swans.” Beautiful and distinguished, the group included grande dame Barbara ``Babe” Paley (Naomi Watts), Slim Keith (Diane Lane), C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny) and Lee Radziwill (Calista Flockhart). Enchanted and captivated by these doyennes, Capote ingratiates himself into their lives, befriending them and becoming their confidante, only to ultimately betray them by writing a thinly veiled fictionalization of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets. When an excerpt from the book, Answered Prayers, Capote’s planned magnum opus, was published in Esquire, it effectively destroyed his relationship with his swans, banished him from the high society he so loved and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover.”

Who Is in the Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans Cast?

The cast is truly stacked. I mean...What’s not to love about some of the most beloved ‘90s actresses joining forces to make magic happen on screen? Tom Hollander stars as Truman Capote, while Naomi Watts, an executive producer on the series, plays one of Capote’s leading “Swans” alongside Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Demi Moore, Calista Flockhart, and Molly Ringwald. See the full Feud character breakdown below.

  • Truman Capote (Tom Hollander)

  • Barbara “Babe” Paley (Naomi Watts)

Is there a Trailer?

Indeed, it promises “sex, money, and endless adventure.” Marketing materials have promoted Feud Season 2 as the story of “The Original Housewives,” and Bravo fans will absolutely see direct parallels between the Housewives of today and the ultra-wealthy women portrayed in this series. The trailer is energetic and sassy and teases plenty of camp drama to come.

Tell me about the fashion in Feud.

It's major! Costume designer Lou Eyrich (a Murphy favorite) told WWD she created six mood boards representative of each Swan’s style and then assigned each woman a fashion color palette reflective of who they were and their taste. Eyrich heavily relied on vintage finds to evoke the spirit of ‘60s fashion designs like Bill Blass and Geoffrey Beene, and she pulled jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels, Verdura, and Jean Schlumberger. Also, Zac Posen was tapped to design the Swans’s costumes for a scene that pays tribute to Capote’s 1966 Black and White Ball at New York’s Plaza Hotel.

What Other TV Shows Are Like Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans?

It depends on what you’re looking for. If dark and deliciously shot thrillers thrill you, we suggest sticking to Murphy’s catalog: Hollywood, American Horror Story, American Horror Stories, The Watcher, Scream Queens, and Nip/Tuck. Now, if it’s the capital F fashion you’re looking for, try Emily in Paris, Halston, The Collection, and if you really want to throw it back, America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, or The Rachel Zoe Project.
