Watch Fabio Get Freaky With Food
Fabio Lanzoni's is known for posing seductively on bodice-ripping romance novels and getting people all hot and bothered at the thought of slathering their toast with a butter-like spread, so that made us wonder: Can the actor make any-and we mean any-food seem sexy?
We surprised the star with all sorts of food, from a slice of pizza to a vending-machine egg salad sandwich, and asked him to present it in the hottest way possible. Check out the video above to see how he did, then read below to find out some of his snack obsessions-and why his latest I Can't Believe It's Not Butter commercial is his craziest one yet.
He Starts the Day with His Biggest Meal.
Fabio starts with day with plenty of protein, often eating scrambled egg whites with mushrooms. He'll pair that with a little oatmeal and toast.
"At lunch, normally I'll have some fish-seabass or salmon-with sauteed vegetables," he says. "At dinner, I try to keep it light, and I'll have some sashimi and rice."
He Loves One Type of Food Above All Others.
Most people splurge on their birthdays, indulging in something completely out of the norm, but not Fabio. The model, who turned 57 in March, plans on celebrating with his go-to dinner: Japanese food.
"I like to go to Nobu or someplace like that," he says. "I'm really into sashimi."
Other favorites? Spicy tuna, handrolls and shisito peppers.
He Can't Believe This Relationship.
Fabio has been a spokesperson for I Can't Believe It's Not Butter since 1994, but it's been a few years since he's starred in one of the brand's commercials. That all changed this year, when the company debuted a new ad that featured Fabio shooting out of a whale's blowhole while telling viewers he "can't believe [his] role isn't bigger."
So how did he react when the company pitched him on the concept?
"They've had me doing pretty much everything: Running naked-half-naked-in the jungle, and you know, in New Zealand, running around barefoot," he says, shrugging it off. "We've been together for 20 years and they're like my second family. We have a lot of fun."
Turns out, nothing can phase Fabio, be it a cheesecake you can't cut through (ahem, see video) or being CGI-shot out of a whale.
