Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Tackle a Woman's Massive Deltoid Lipoma

From Men's Health

  • In a new Instagram video from Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—aka Dr. Pimple Popper—a massive lipoma makes a patient look like she’s been working out just one side of her body.

  • Lipomas are lumps under the skin caused by overgrown fat cells.

  • Dr. Pimple Popper lets out a sigh as the growth springs from beneath the skin with an audible pop.

Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—aka Dr. Pimple Popper—may not need to hit up the gym after the workout she got popping a patient’s deltoid lipoma. In a brief new video uploaded to her Instagram, Dr. Lee removes a lipoma from a patient’s deltoid that’s so big, it looks like the patient has been working out just one side of her body. Dr. Lee herself even jokes about the size and its particular placement on the woman’s delt, writing, “No gym needed for this deltoid pump #drpimplepopper.”

A lipoma is a lump that forms under the skin as a result of overgrown fat cells and may run in families, which appears to be the case for this patient. As Dr. Lee methodically cuts into the skin after inserting a cannula to remove fluid (nothing like seeing a massive needle stuck in someone’s arm, right?), the patient explains that her sister has had the same bulbous growth. But this woman won’t have one for much longer.

As the patient finishes her story, Dr. Lee has completed her incision and carefully slips her finger under the skin through the tissuey incision and attempts to pry the persistent lipoma from its muscly position. However, it doesn’t want to go so easily. Lee is forced to continue prying the growth free with a single finger.

After she’s gotten her finger workout in and the fatty top half of the growth is exposed, Lee begins to squeeze and squeeze and squeeze some more until finally the growth springs out from the skin with an audible (and satisfying) pop. Lee and those in the room can’t contain their joy as laughter sounds and people exclaim, “That was awesome.”

Honestly, it kind of was.
