Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Squeeze a Huge Cyst on a Man's Face

From Men's Health

• In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper extracts a large cyst from a man's face.
• Cysts form on the face when glands or ducts become clogged, usually with sebum, keratin, or dead skin cells.
• In most cases, these cysts are benign and harmless, and don't often require the intervention of a dermatologist.

In her latest Instagram installment, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—helps a patient deal with a large, stubborn cyst located on his chin. Evidently, this particular growth has had some time to develop: "There's stuff in there—it's like a broken down cyst," Dr. Lee says. "Gosh, you were storing some stuff in there.

As extractions go, the routine is pretty straightforward: Using a scalpal-like tool, Dr. Lee makes quick work of the cyst, squeezing out its innards in a matter of seconds after making a small incision. As one commenter puts it, "He has to feel instant relief."

Cysts form for a wide variety reasons, and can persist well into adulthood, according to the Mayo Clinic. Often, the culprit is the overproduction of an oily substance called sebum, which can cause pores to become blocked, according to MedicalNewsToday.

Tempting as it may be, however, it's not recommended—for obvious reasons, we hope—that people try a procedure like the one depicted in the video on their own. If the usual methods of acne—fighting (some of which you can read about here) aren't working out for you, leave the cyst slicing to the hands of a professional.
