Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Snip Out a Steatocystoma Sac
In a new Instagram video, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—aka Dr. Pimple Popper—puts her scissor skills to work.
She snips out a patient's steatocystoma sac, which helps prevent the growth from ever returning.
Of course, this is Dr. Pimple Popper—which means the procedure was accompanied by a healthy dose of oozing yellow pus, which one commenter compared to "dijon mustard."
If there's one thing we've learned from watching more Dr. Pimple Popper cyst videos than we could possibly count, it's that the key to preventing a cyst from ever returning is to snip out the sac. You can't just drain out the pus and call it a day, people! (Even if it is fun to watch the geyser-like eruptions.)
In a new Instagram video, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—star of TLC's hit series Dr. Pimple Popper—deftly snips out a patient's steatocystoma sac. (FYI, a steatocystoma is a benign cyst filled with sebum, the stuff that lubricates our skin and hair. "Steatocystoma multiplex" is a skin disorder where a patient has a whole bunch of these growths, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.)
As Dr. Lee snips away at the sac, there's a point when she has to contend with an oozing stream of yellowy pus—you know, classic buttery steatocystoma contents. (Lord, we've watched too many of these videos.) One commenter compared the substance to "dijon mustard," which, frankly, is also very accurate.
