Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Remove a Pilar Cyst from This Woman's Eye

When you see the words "pilar cyst" on a video from Dr. Pimple Popper, it's usually an indicator that you're about to see a pretty dramatic extraction. But in her latest Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—serves up a gentle reminder that pilar cysts can come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

This cyst, located rather inconveniently just above her patient's eye, is one of the smallest we've seen in recent memory, and you could almost mistake it for a simple zit if not for Dr. Lee's commentary. Pilar cysts, unlike your average pimple, are fluid-filled sacs that tend to form on the surface of the scalp, according to MedicalNewsToday. Most of the time, they're smaller and out of sight, which means people can simply give them time to go away on their own. (As the article notes, pilar cysts can be as small as 0.5 millimeters.)

This growth, Dr. Lee explains, had become wedged under the skin and was sticking out, which makes it more of a problem than most. After giving it a quick pinch, followed by some light tweezing, Dr. Lee successfully removes the cyst from above the woman's eye, and the difference is immediate.

"Nice and flat," Dr. Lee adds. "That feels pretty good."
