Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Remove a Piece of 'Lint' From a Man's Neck
In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper pops a chunky cyst out of a patient's neck.
Fans have commented that the cyst looks like a piece for dryer lint due to its texture and gray color.
Epidermoid cysts are usually filled with dead skin and keratin, which can sometimes be gray in color due to melanin.
In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—pops out an epidermoid cyst festering in a man's neck. Some fans have commented that the cyst's contents looks like lint due to it chunky texture and grayish hue. How's that for a strangely satisfying removal?
"Eeeeek, it's like lint," one fan commented quite accurately. Another fan said the contents looks like an "owl pellet," which is undoubtedly a creative comparison.
In the clip, Dr. Lee makes an incision in the center of the cyst and uses her gloved fingers to squeeze the growth out. To further free the stuck contents, the famous derm uses a pair of tweezers and surgical scissors to remove the "lint" from her patient.
Now, this is clearly not actually a collection of forgotten lint festering in the man's neck. The gray substance inside of the cyst is likely a mix of dead skin cells and keratin, which shed and gather in the growth. In people with darker skin tones, like this patient, melanin can make a cyst's contents appear gray in color.
