Don't knock the simple ones. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—pops a few blackheads from the cracks and crevices in a patient’s neck. This is one may be simple, but that doesn’t mean it isn't satisfying.

In the silent clip, Dr. Lee nicks the surface of the blackheads to widen the opening the growths have to squeeze through. She then uses a comedone extractor to push down on the blackheads dotted across the back of the patient’s neck. They pop out with ease, leaving behind no trace. Now that's a series of clean pops.

While some commenters wish for a more zoomed in view of the pops, sometimes a little distance makes the heart grow fonder — and also keeps the ickiness of sticky pops at a minimum.

A blackhead is a single pore filled with dead skin and oil, which forms a black “head” when exposed to air. The white portion of a blackhead is actually the same material as the black cap, only this material hasn’t been oxidized to create a black coloring.
