Arlene Silver and Dick Van Dyke

In the beloved film Mary Poppins, Dick Van Dyke sings the song "Jolly Holiday" to Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews).

“It's a jolly holiday with Mary,” he sings. “No wonder that it's Mary that we love!”

The same could be said about Dick Van Dyke.

For more than seven decades Van Dyke has delighted audiences on stage, TV and film, inspiring people to "put on a happy face." And at 98, the Golden Globe, Tony, Grammy and Emmy award-winning performer shows no sign of slowing down. (In fact, Van Dyke still heads to the gym three times a week for a full workout.) So it seemed fitting that when Van Dyke turned 98 on Dec. 13, it was time to ring in his birthday in an epic way.

On Dec. 21 (tonight), CBS will present the star-studded tribute special, Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic. The two-hour special will celebrate this great performer and his dazzling career.

Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic will feature dance and musical performances from the actor's legendary career. (Think Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, plus more.) Also, expect appearances from fellow entertainment legends, including Julie Andrews, Mel Brooks, Carol Burnett and many more. Plus, the special will feature an exact recreation of the famous Dick Van Dyke Show set. "This Broadway production has blown me away," Van Dyke says of the special. Even at his age, he says "This is something I'll never forget."

No doubt the special will be as wonderful as Van Dyke who continues to sing with his group, the Vantastix and says he has a lot of living still to do. As Van Dyke wrote in his memoir Keep Moving, "Don't be scared of dying. Be more frightened that you haven't finished living."
