Watch: This Is What a Day Getting Drained in Cape Hatteras Feels Like

There are only a handful of surfers that can properly capture the GoPro POV shot.

Brett Barley is one of them.

It's a challenge, especially in pumping tubes. It's hard enough to position yourself steep and deep on a gnarly day, and doubly so when you're biting down on a GoPro mouth mount while still tying to breath normally and angle your vision to nail the shot. And when you fall? That's another challenge entirely, and it's amazing that guys like Barley don't freak out and lose the camera while getting thrashed around underwater.

After a 6-week run of pumping Hurricane surf in September and early October, Brett Barley is currently working on an edit that will surely be one of his best. In the meantime, he's just released this raw POV clip detailing a day of getting drained during Hurricane Idalia.

It's the closest thing we'll get to walking a day in Barley's shoes. And we gotta say: It feels pretty damn good.
