Watch Chris Evans’ Sweet Video to a Young Boy Who Saved His Sister from a Dog Attack

Even when he’s out of the Captain America costume, Chris Evans is still a superhero.

The actor recently sent an endearing video message to a 6-year-old boy named Bridger Walker, whose brave story of saving his younger sister from a severe dog attack went viral on social media earlier this month. And like a good superhero should do, the actor commended the young boy for his heroic feat.

“I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about this over the last few days, but let me be the next one to tell you—pal, you’re a hero,” Evans told Walker. “What you did was so brave, so selfless. Your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you.”

The Avengers star also added that to celebrate the moment, he will personally send Walker an authentic Captain America shield, because “pal, you deserve it.”

“Keep being the man you are—we need people like you,” Evans continued. “Hang in there. I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I’ve seen, I don’t think there’s much that can slow you down.”

What was the little boy’s reaction? Although he kept his cool on camera, Walker was clearly excited about this, as he donned a Captain America costume throughout the entire video. And who does he have to thank for the message? His aunt Nicole Noel Walker, who was the one to initially reach out to the Avengers team after the incident occurred.

But Evans wasn’t the only superhero to send praise for Walker’s bravery. Mark Ruffalo, Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson, Grant Gustin and Robbie Amell were among the many who became fans of the little boy’s act, with Ruffalo commenting how the boy is “more of a man than many, many I have seen or known.”

Talk about a perfect ending to a superhero story.
