Call the Midwife fans can rest safe in the knowledge that the show has been picked up through season 13 by the BBC. That means that the midwives of Poplar will be in our lives for a while longer. Following the dramatic events of season 11, it's been a long hiatus, but now, season 12 is just around the corner.

The period drama follows a group of midwives working in London's East End during the 1950s and 1960s, with a cast that includes Jenny Agutter, Helen George, Leonie Elliott, and Judy Parfitt. If you enjoy the thrill of appointment viewing, season 12 of Call the Midwife will begin airing on PBS Masterpiece on March 19, 2023 at 8 p.m. eastern, with new episodes debuting at the same time each Sunday.
