Watch This Bodybuilder Convert a Small Garage Into an Amazing Home Gym

From Men's Health

As a result of the pandemic, home workouts have become the norm for pretty much everybody. Even after gyms began to reopen, many people have continued with their training at home, either due to the money they've saved without a gym membership, or simply because they feel safer by doing so.

In the United Kingdom, gyms were only open again for a brief time, before a second, month-long lockdown was introduced at the start of November. Having thought this might be the case, British bodybuilder Gabriel Sey had got the jump on Lockdown 2.0 and converted the empty garage in his new home into a fully equipped workout space.

In a new YouTube video, he shares his experience of completing the project, and takes viewers on a tour.

After giving the garage a thorough clean and painting the walls, Sey cuts and lays padded matting on the floor, and fits shelves, weight holders, and a timer on the wall, along with the standard whiteboard for programming his workouts. Then, it's a case of assembling his new workout equipment in a way in the most efficient layout possible, given the limited space available. Sey's gear includes a punching bag, a power rack, dumbbell rack, and an assault bike, a.k.a. "the soul snatcher."

"It covers all the bases of what we need to do, and I think I've made pretty good use of the space," he says. "I wanted to try and give some inspiration, as well as creating my own space, for people who don't have massive double garages or whatever, or they have a shed of this size."
