These Super Bowl Ads Give the Actual Game a Run for Its Money

We love to watch the Super Bowl every year... there's no other game day like it! And while we're more than ready to cheer on whichever of the two teams that'll be playing, we'd be lying if we said that we weren't just as excited for the Super Bowl commercials. Usually, commercials are annoying—but the Super Bowl has reinvented what they mean entirely with A-list stars and those iconic Clydesdale horses! Honestly, they entertain us just as much as the halftime show at this point, and can make any Super Bowl party all the more fun. As we wait to see just which two teams will be taking on the field on February 11, we've rounded up the best Super Bowl commercials of all time that are such a joy to revisit.

There have been so many great Super Bowl ads over the years, and we'll never forget the ones that made us laugh the loudest and cry the hardest. (Get ready for the one from The Farmer's Dog. 😭) So, bring out your best Super Bowl snacks and watch away! Note: These iconic Super Bowl ads are ranked in no particular order because it's impossible to choose a favorite. But if you have one, let us know in the comments!

1. The Farmer's Dog - "Forever"

We didn't know that a commercial around a minute long could make us cry, but this 2023 ad from The Farmer's Dog made it happen! Pups really are our best friends, and we'll make sure to love ours forever. (Okay, back to crying we go.)

2. T-Mobile - "New year. New neighbor."

Our Grease fans were made very happy with this one from Super Bowl LVII! Somehow, T-Mobile got John Travolta to do a rendition of his hit song "Summer Nights" (originally a duet with the late Olivia Newton-John), and it's hilarious. It also features Scrubs actors, Zach Braff and Donald Faison.

3. Kia - "Binky Dad"

In 2023, Kia won over dads everywhere with this commercial. Watch as a father travels over yonder in record speed to retrieve his newborn babies *favorite* binky after realizing he didn't pack it for vacation. This one feels like a full-on movie!

4. Audi - "The Chase"

Jason Statham, aka the king of high-speed chases in action movies, took us on a wild journey with this Audi commercial. Hey, it was certainly one way to keep our adrenaline going throughout the big game in 2009!

5. Snickers - "The Brady Bunch"

Let's face it: Snickers commercials are some of the best! Danny Trejo channels his inner Marcia Brady, and it's one of the greatest things we've ever seen. Really.

6. Always - "#LikeaGirl"

It's hard to forget this inspiring ad. This one serves as a reminder that girls and women can do absolutely anything—and do it well.

7. Old Spice - "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like"

This Old Spice ad never actually aired during Super Bowl XLIV. Instead, it was released online that weekend and quickly became one of the most talked-about campaigns of the entire year.

8. Volkswagen - "The Force"

Super Bowl commercials have used pop culture references for decades, and this Volkswagen spot did it in the most endearing way possible. What's not to love about a little kid who fancies himself Darth Vader?

9. McDonald's - "The Showdown"

McDonald's pitted rivals Larry Bird and Michael Jordan against each other in this outrageous commercial during Super Bowl XXVII. It successfully managed to get everyone talking about basketball and Big Macs during the biggest football game of the year.

10. Snickers - "Betty White"

Betty White never fails to get a laugh, and her part in this Snickers ad from Super Bowl XLIV is no exception.

11. Budweiser - "Puppy Love"

Cute puppies, gorgeous Clydesdales, and ice cold beer—what more could anyone want? Budweiser's memorable ad that aired during Super Bowl XLVIII is still talked about today.

12. Doritos - "Cool Ranch Dance"

Sam Elliott dancing to "Old Town Road" with Lil Nas X will go down in history as one of the most unexpected (and hilarious!) Super Bowl mash-ups of all time.

13. Amazon - "Alexa Loses Her Voice"

Amazon's star-studded spot during Super Bowl LII featured a handful of celebrities, including Rebel Wilson, Cardi B, Gordon Ramsay, and even Amazon's founder and CEO Jeff Bezos.

14. Wendy's - "Where's the Beef?"

Long before Wendy's started "beef" on Twitter, the fast-food chain took a shot at its competitor on national television in 1984. This hilarious Super Bowl XVIII ad became an instant classic!

15. Game of Thrones and Bud Light - "Joust"

When HBO seemingly hijacked Bud Light's Super Bowl LIII ad, it gave beer lovers and Game of Thrones fans the crossover they never knew they needed. Dilly dilly!

16. Tide - "It's a Tide Ad"

Tide scored a touchdown with this commercial that aired during Super Bowl LIII and hilariously pointed out that, technically, every ad is a Tide ad.

17. Pepsi - Cindy Crawford

This Pepsi commercial featuring Cindy Crawford was so popular, the soda brand recreated it nearly 30 years later—and even included Cindy's son! Man, that's a good lookin' family.

18. eTrade - "Baby"

When eTrade entrusted its image to a talking baby during Super Bowl XLIV, the company took a big risk. It definitely paid off, because this tiny tot quickly became one of the most recognizable ads on television.

19. Mountain Dew - "Puppy Monkey Baby"

When Mountain Dew created the bizarre "puppy monkey baby," people didn't know what to think—but they also couldn't stop talking about it after Super Bowl LI. Sounds like a success!

20. Reebok - "Office Linebacker"

Reebok's over-the-top commercial for Super Bowl XXXVII was such a hit, it led to a series of similar ads featuring football star Terry Tate.

21. Budweiser - "Singing Frogs"

Budweiser is the unofficial King of Super Bowl commercials, so it only makes sense the beer brand appears on this list twice. This ad from Super Bowl XXIX makes us laugh every 👏 single 👏 time. 👏

22. Coca-Cola - "Mean Joe Greene"

This Coca-Cola ad that aired during the Super Bowl in 1980 is an all-time classic. "Hey kid, catch!" Maybe Bryce can film his own version when he gets to college. 😜

23. Chrysler - "It's Halftime in America"

At a full two-minutes, this Chrysler commercial is one of the longest Super Bowl ads of all time. But the powerful pep talk delivered by Clint Eastwood was exactly what people needed to hear after the Great Recession—and it's still relevant today.

"This country can't be knocked out in one punch. We get back up again, and when we do, the world is gonna hear the roar of our engines," Clint says. "It's halftime, America. And our second half is about to begin."

24. Pringles - "Flavor Stacking Space Return"

A nod to past Pringles ads, this 2021 commercial shows innovation at its finest: The world's greatest minds are still finding new ways to stack flavors of the oblong chip. Even if it means ignoring, erm, other responsibilities.

25. Michelob ULTRA - "Happy”

If Super Bowl Sunday rolls around and we don't see one of the Manning brothers on TV, did the game even happen? (Hint: Apparently not.) This new Michelob ULTRA ad shows Peyton and a handful of other sports greats celebrating their wins—and, more importantly, their happiness.
