Back in December, Steve-O posted a video to social media.

It was a throwback, a home video of sorts, not an official Jackass skit. Steve-O lights his crotch on fire, then Bam Margera kicks him in the nether region. The video wasn’t about the stunt, though; it was a celebration of Bam’s newly found sobriety.

Fans chimed in to congratulate Bam. Even Kelly Slater commented: “That’s awesome. The sobriety not the kick in the nuts. That’s messed up. I’d be mad at home for life.”

Now, Bam and Steve-O are back.

Well, they never really went anywhere. But the two former Jackass stars – and good friends – recently linked up for a surf session. (See the clip above.)

“I’m reunited with Bam Margera,” Steve-O opens the clip.

After a cup of coffee, and while they’re suiting up, the cameraman asks Bam:

“You ever surf?”

Bam replies:

“I’ve tried about six times, and never been able to stand up properly.”

And once they hit the water, Bam furthers his fraught relationship with surfing. He, once again, doesn’t stand up properly. Let’s make that 0-7.

Like one would imagine, Bam’s more comfortable on a skateboard – as, at one time, that was his profession. But substance abuse led Bam down a dark path in recent years, which resulted in his absence from skateboarding, Jackass, and pretty much everything else.

Somewhat recently, back in 2023, Bam appeared on Steve-O’s “Wild Ride” podcast. And wild it was. Bam told Steve-O about how he was pronounced dead after suffering five seizures and pneumonia. Here’s what Bam said:

“Basically, I was pronounced dead on Dec. 8th. I did not know that I had gnarly COVID and my body was shutting down. I went into four seizures, each one lasting 10 to 20 minutes. On the fourth one I bit my tongue so hard it was nearly fallen off. It got so swollen and puffy it wouldn’t fit in my mouth. I was drinking the infected blood which gave me pneumonia as well.”

It looks like Bam’s doing better now. Good stuff.
