Watch Aubrey Plaza Make Out With Chloe Fineman to Promote Her 'SNL' Hosting Gig

If there's one thing Aubrey Plaza is going to do, it's fully commit to the bit. The actress, fresh off her stint on The White Lotus, is bringing her trademark intensity and offbeat sense of humor to Saturday Night Live on January 21—and she has just successfully got fans excited for the episode, which marks her first time hosting the show, by going characteristically all-in.

A new promotional clip sees Plaza meeting up with cast member Chloe Fineman on the SNL set, with Plaza saying how excited she is to take part in the long-running sketch show before complimenting Fineman on her knack for celebrity impressions, and then revealing she has a talent for them too. The two then have a competition to see who can pull off the best impersonation, with Fineman breaking out her crowd-pleasing homage to Drew Barrymore.

Plaza's choices, however, are more on the "intense" side: she begins with a monologue by Marcia Gay Harden in the 2000 drama film Pollock, then repeatedly slaps herself while recreating one of Annette Bening's best-known scenes from American Beauty.

"Why are you like this?" Fineman asks her, to which a wide-eyed Plaza replies: "Because I'm insane, and I've been waiting to do this show since I was twelve years old."

The two women then draw closer, and are eventually swept up in a passionate kiss. We don't actually see the kiss happen, as the camera angle cuts away to the point-of-view of a janitor in the background, but there sure are some loud lip-smacking sounds. All in all, it's a pretty accurate way to set expectations for the off-kilter but highly watchable comedic sensibility that Plaza will undoubtedly bring to the show on Saturday night.
