Watch Alicia Vikander escape death *so* many times in the first trailer for “Tomb Raider”
Reboots on reboots on reboots…and now we’ve got the first trailer for the new Tomb Raider! Laura Croft is a pretty iconic character, whether you’re a fan of the original movies (starring Angelia Jolie) or just a devotee of easy sexy Halloween costumes. Giving her a new life in a new series feels like a big deal, and while reboots sometimesssss make us a little nervous about what Hollywood is doing with our faves, we feel pretty confident that Alicia Vikander is cut out for the job.
The new Tomb Raider follows Laura Croft as she investigates a tomb her archaeologist father found shortly before his death.
He posthumously warns her that it could lead to the end of the world, natch. (When are we going to see a movie archaeologists who find a tombs that doesn’t lead to the end of the world?) We’ve got a lot of world saving, a lot of running away from spiraling doom spikes, and a lot of guns. Basically, we think we’re gonna be pretty happy with this, tbh.
We’re super into a movie about a smart, independent lady kicking ass and taking names while doing too many death defying stunts to keep track of. So obviously we’re super into this trailer, because it’s basically just a series of cuts of Laura Croft not dying. (We totally want to be Laura Croft when we grow up.)
Tomb Raider is due out on March 18th, 2018, so mark your calendars, and get your cosplays ready, people. This is not a drill.
