Action Bronson gained widespread attention in 2020 when he embarked on a weight loss journey while confined to the apartment during Covid shutdowns. The rapper and chef, known for rhapsodizing about food on his show F*ck, That's Delicious, realized he had to make some changes to improve his own health following the birth of his son, and so he overhauled his diet and threw himself into a HIIT-heavy workout routine.

Bronson has continued to pursue his fitness goals in the three years since, losing more than 160 pounds and simultaneously building strength in his weight training sessions. He has even hit up some of his fit friends to offer him pointers in his workouts along the way, from former World's Strongest Man champion Martins Licis to baseball star CC Sabathia and UFC host Joe Rogan.

And this month, he crushed a new single rep max on the bench press.

During a recent spate of Instagram updates from his recent trip to Los Angeles—including a post capturing his visit to bodybuilding mecca Gold's Gym in Venice Beach—Bronson shared a video of himself benching a PR of 315 pounds.

And it's not just the bench press. Earlier in October, Bronson uploaded a video showing that he is also able to squat 315 pounds. In this clip, he is specifically performing the Zercher squat, an advanced variation which enables you to reach a lower squatting position while also challenging the core, biceps, and traps.

"You're playing quarterback with your own body. It's all about decisions," Bronson told Men's Health while still in the early stages of his transformation. "You keep your eye on the prize and don't let yourself fall down."

If his progress in the gym is anything to go by, it's safe to say he's taken his own words to heart.
