Anime has definitely grown over the last few years and a large part of that has to do with Crunchyroll, one of the biggest streaming services just for the medium. And while this isn't the first time they're hosting their official Anime Awards, this year is completely different. Not only are fan favorites like Spy x Family, Attack on Titan, and Demon Slayer nominated for some major awards, but it's also the first time that they're taking place in the birthplace of anime: Tokyo, Japan.

"We saw this massive opportunity to connect so many fans in so many parts of the world to the creators behind their biggest shows. And in order to get them in one room, it just made a ton of sense to bring it to Japan—where anime is from—and create a really special moment where all these influential people are in one space together to be celebrated," Gita Rebbaprada, Cheif Marketing Officer at Crunchyroll exclusively told Cosmopolitan before the event.

So yeah, it's going to be a very big deal! Curious on how you can tune in?

Here's everything you need to know about how to watch the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

First, when are the Crunchyroll Anime Awards?

While we're used to most of our favorite award shows taking place in either the eastern or western time zones, this one is a little bit different due to it taking place in Tokyo. It will be officially taking place on Saturday, March 4th and surprisingly, that isn't any different for us back in the states even with the time differences. It will officially start at 6:30 PM Japan time, which means it'll be 4:30 AM ET and 1:30 AM PT.

"It's going to be timezone more friendly to Asia, India and Australia. But we're really excited to see what it looks like for Europe and the Americas," said Brady McCollum, Crunchyroll's Chief Operating Officer.

Where can I watch the awards?

You have two different watch options and both are actually super easy to access. The first is Crunchyroll's YouTube channel where they already have a live stream link set up so you can bookmark it now for later! Or you can also check out their Twitch channel, which will also be running it live.

Who is going to be there?

Apart from the nominees and some of the biggest names in anime which will obviously come out for the big night, a couple of celeb anime fans have also been invited to join in on the fun. Finn Wolfhard, Jacob Bertrand, and Hunter Schafer are just some of the big names that will be handing out some awards. Others include Aidan Hutchinson, Juju Smith-Schuster, Robert Rodriguez, Zelina Vega, Sykkuno, and Valkyrae.

"What was surprising, in a great way, was how many people wanted to fly out here to present the awards or be a part of it. There's a lot of excitement around it and a lot of people wanting to do this with us. It's been incredibly fun to see," Gita noted.

With this impressive guest list and some major contenders, you're definitely not going to want to miss it!
