For film buffs and red carpet watchers alike, there's no awards show night quite like the Oscars. For the show-stopping gowns to the real life drama of waiting to find out who will take home some of the film industry's most coveted awards, it remains one of the movie world's biggest nights. If you're wondering how to tune in for your Oscar night watch party, here's everything you need to know.

When are the Academy Awards?

The ceremony is scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 with the festivities kicking off with the red carpet pre-show at 6:30 p.m. eastern at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, followed by the awards ceremony at 8 p.m.

How to watch

The Oscars be televised, as usual, live on ABC. For cord-cutters, the awards will also be available to stream live via abc.com or the ABC app (the app must be authenticated through your cable or satellite provider) as well as through Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV, and FuboTV.

Who's hosting?

Jimmy Kimmel will be returning for his third stint as host of the awards show in 2023.

"Jimmy is the perfect host to help us recognize the incredible artists and films of our 95th Oscars. His love of movies, live TV expertise and ability to connect with our global audiences will create an unforgettable experience for our millions of viewers worldwide," Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang said in a joint statement.

As usual, it's expected that Kimmel will be joined by a number of A-list performers to present the awards themselves, though precisely who that could include has not been announced yet. Given that both Rihanna and Lady Gaga are nominated for the Best Original Song category—which are typically performed live at the event—many are anticipating an extra star-studded event this year.

Who are the nominees?

This year, the Michelle Yeoh-starring Everything Everywhere All at Once led the nominations pack garnering 11 nominations, followed by The Banshees of Inisherin and All Quiet on the Western Front with nine nods a piece.
