Washington Ski Resort Offers "Bonus" Day Of Skiing

The Summit at Snoqualmie, Washington, will offer an additional day of skiing at Summit East today, followed by the zone's closure for the season after Sunday.

The Summit's terrain is segmented into multiple sections, including Alpental—a satellite resort on the other side of I-90. These sections close for the winter on different timelines.

While Summit East will close after this weekend, Summit Central, the heart of the Summit's terrain, will remain open until at least April 14th, with ensuing weekend operating hours still TBD.

Alpental is set to offer weekend skiing in April.

Washington has had a tough go at it this season, with significant stretches of the winter seeing less-than-desirable skiing conditions. The first half of 2024 has delivered some bright spots, though.

Should better snow arrive, next winter looks even brighter, with Alpental set to debut the new International Chair, providing another much-needed avenue to reach its upper mountain terrain. Every Alpental skier knows the Armstrong Express could use a break—especially on powder days.
