Have you ever wondered what it takes to become an interior decorator? Are you a design professional looking for tips on how to take your business to the next level? Or are you simply looking to create a more inspired home? Then join ELLE Decor, House Beautiful, Town & Country, and Veranda for Design U., a virtual event for design inspiration, education, and networking, launching Wednesday, May 5, at 12 p.m. EDT.

Design U. will bring together design experts and editors to discuss topics—ranging from the ins and outs of building a design business to the pervasive impact of design on our world—for an audience of students, design-business owners, and design enthusiasts.

Of course, we are especially excited for a candid conversation between ELLE Decor editor in chief Asad Syrkett, interior designer Jeremiah Brent, Clare paint founder Nicole Gibbons, and Nigerian-Canadian artist and designer Lani Adeoye themed “How to Start Your Design Career and Build a Business.” These experts will divulge their top tips for launching a design business, from the key relationships that paved the way for a successful studio to the challenges that are facing the industry in 2021.

House Beautiful, meanwhile, will host a discussion delving into how design can impact our mental health; Town & Country will explore the myriad opportunities that exist in the design field; and Veranda will host a panel focused on incorporating nature into your home, both inside and out. Special thanks to our sponsor, La Cienega Design Quarter, and event partners Caesarstone, Obakki, Kohler, Longaberger, and Design Within Reach.
