Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccerello just dropped a new installment to his Rive Droite artistic outpost, one that leans into the “electric spirit” of famed Italian architectural design group Memphis Milano.

Inspired by the "timeless" postmodern designs of Memphis, the creative director collaborated with the esteemed design group to bring to life the Memphis Milano x Anthony Vaccerello Yves Saint Laurent Rive Droite collection. On offer are apparel and homeware pieces that blend the Parisian-chic, streetwear classic style of Saint Laurent and the “ultra-graphic and very identifiable, playful and colored universe” encapsulated in Memphis Milano's staple furniture. If all of those pink-hued wavy Ettore Sottsass mirrors on our social feeds are any indication, the fashion set is fixated on all things Memphis at the moment.

The collection includes two colorblock, checkered hoodies and pairs of multicolor sneakers, two dresses and one button-up shirt in what Saint Laurent is calling Memphis Silk, a printed bold pink fabric. The homeware and ceramics items range from ashtrays to vases to textile accessories, in addition to a rare selection of books that cover the extensive history of Memphis works.

In addition to the collection drop, Vaccerello will also be hosting an exhibition ahead of Memphis Milano's 40th anniversary that will be held in both the Paris and LA Saint Laurent Rive Droite store locations from May 19 to June 23. The exhibition will include the homeware pieces from YSL's collaborated collection and feature iconic Memphis pieces dating back to the '80s by designers including Sottsass, Masanori Umeda, and Michele De Lucchi.
