Wanna Know Who Almost Got Cast as Hannah Montana? The Show's Casting Director Just Spilled the 3 Finalists

If you happened to open TikTok yesterday, you may have seen a vid of Hannah Montana's casting director setting the record straight on some preeeeetty juicy gossip. 👀 Lisa London posted a response to a fellow user who claimed that Mexican-Spanish singer Belinda had been one of the contenders for the Disney show Hannah Montana once upon a time.

"I'm actually the original casting director on Hannah Montana, and I discovered Miley Cyrus," Lisa began. "I wanted to let everybody know that Belinda, who's lovely by the way, was never in the top three for the role of Hannah. These are the final three actresses that auditioned at the network test out of over 1,200 girls."

If you think you know just who the actors were (other than Miley Cyrus, obviously), your mind is about to be blown in 3, 2, 1...

The casting director showed a piece of paper dated May 6, 2005 that listed none other than Taylor Momsen and Daniella Monet alongside Miley's name. The audition sheet also listed the role as "Chloe," which the casting director clarified was the original name of the main character before Miley was cast. "This was when her name was originally Chloe Stewart before they changed it to Miley Stewart," she said.

Though neither Taylor nor Danielle ultimately made the cut, their careers still took off—both eventually went on to star in their own television shows. In 2007, Taylor skyrocketed to super-fame by playing Jenny Humphrey in this little known series you may or may not have heard of called Gossip Girl before starting her alt-rock band, The Pretty Reckless. Meanwhile, Danielle starred as Trina Vega on the Nickelodeon show Victorious opposite other big name celebs like Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, and Elizabeth Gillies.

Miley Cyrus, for her part, became a hugely successful singer and actor, with her Hannah Montana character even getting her own movie (which TBH may or may not still be one of my faves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). As for Belinda? She ended up earning a couple of Latin Grammys herself and fulfilled her ~Disney dreams~ after being cast in The Cheetah Girls 2 movie.

The main takeaway here? If you made it relatively far in the Hannah Montana auditions, chances are you're probs crushing life right about now!
