If you've been lucky enough to snag a coveted Nintendo Switch OLED or PlayStation 5 to give to a very lucky someone (or yourself!) as a Christmas surprise, you'll want to include a couple of popular games. Lucky for you, many great games for the Switch, Xbox and PlayStation are on sale at Walmart.

If you are still looking for a PlayStation 5, however, we do have one juicy tip: Walmart puts aside a few systems for Walmart+ members and makes them available in special sales. Membership is only $13 a month or $98 a year, and you get a two-week free trial when you sign up here. You will need to be out of the free period to take advantage of the special PS5 sales, but it’s certainly better than paying eBay prices.

It's been almost five years since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released for the Nintendo Switch, and we have no idea when the sequel is coming. Luckily, there are games like Immortal Fenyx Rising to scratch your itch for an open immersive world and epic story. The PlayStation 5 version is just $20, a 60 percent (!!!) discount.

Gamers love this title, calling it "super fun and challenging," and "one of Ubisoft's best games!" It has a "Great story, great open world" and "a sense of humor." That sounds like a great way for a player to spend their holiday season!

If you really need a challenge, then Demon Souls should be right up your alley. The Dark Souls games are notoriously difficult, and this title is where it all started. Well, with a bit of a facelift for the PlayStation 5. This is actually a full remake, with graphics, audio and everything else redone to look “amazing” on your next-gen system. And it's only $40 right now, a 43 percent discount!

Shoppers say it’s “a wonderful launch title that shouldn’t be overlooked.” And though it’s “not for beginners,” another gamer offers some sage advice: “[The] key to [the] game is patience, guarding, dodging and backstab. Take your time, enjoy the beautiful detailed scenery and don't rush into a fight and you'll love this game.” We’ll take that to heart!

If your family gamer won't receive the PS5 this year, they still deserve a few new games to enjoy. There are still a lot of great games being released for the PS4 system, and there are plenty of deals to be had for titles old and new.

One popular new game is Final Fantasy VII Remake. The original was an instant classic upon its release back in 1997, and this remake gives it a super slick facelift.

A fan of the original says even though they hesitated to buy this new one, they were “not disappointed,” adding that it’s “faithful to the original story with a twist! Better storytelling with the improved graphics.”

We recommend you gift Marvel's Spider-Man with Peter Parker — and now is the moment to buy since it's 50 percent off. It’s a great story that follows Spider-Man as he tries to defend New York from the Sinister Six — villains including the Rhino and Doctor Octopus. But even when you’re not continuing the story it’s just lots of fun swinging from building to building and beating up the bad guys!

One player enthuses, “I can't stop playing this game. As a Spider-Man fan, they capture all of the aspects that make a great game (side quests, main quests, multiple fighting styles) and capture the humor and character depth of Spider-man and Peter Parker. Love it.” That pretty much nails why we love it too!

If you haven't heard of the franchise, Kingdom Hearts is an action-packed role-playing game where Disney meets Final-Fantasy, and this collection has 10 of the games in the series collected together for one super low price. Kingdom Hearts All-in-One Package would still be a great bargain at its regular price of $50, but right now it's 50 percent off, only $25. That's a crazy good deal, and your loved ones will love playing with Mickey, Donald and Goofy, as well as meeting new friends like Sora and Riku.

Shoppers note it's good for all ages, with one parent saying "My little one can even play it" and another enthusing "I bought Kingdom Hearts for my son and he can't stop talking about how much he is enjoying the game." If the kids love it this much, it'll certainly make a great addition to your own collection.

The newest addition to the Pokémon universe is a set of remakes to games that came out way back in 2007, but now even cuter. Explore the Sinnoh region, protect towns and cities from the villainous Team Galactic and oh yeah, try to complete your collection of Pokémon! One of the titles, Pokémon Shining Pearl, was only released last month but it's already on sale, now available for $50.

One fan counted down the numerous pros, saying it "feels like a classic styled game. Graphics are decent. There's actual legendary Pokémon, that are part of the storyline. The elite four is a grade up, since when you go back through after beating the game, they're significantly stronger. You can [challenge] the gym leaders over and over again, endlessly. [...] You can get Pokémon from all the way back [to the first games, Red and Blue]."

Get South Park: The Fractured But Whole for only $15

This might sound a little crazy, but this role-playing game based on the crude cartoon from Comedy Central is actually really good. The city of South Park is fun to explore, the dialogue is razor-sharp and there are great items to discover. The combat is also awesome. We can't recommend South Park: The Fractured But Whole enough, and right now you can give it a shot for only $15, a whopping 76 percent discount off its regular price.

Shoppers agree, with one saying "If you like the show, you'll love the game. All the characters from the show coming together for a hilarious game that's just a good time." But even if you aren't the biggest fan, The Fractured But Whole also "challenges your problem solving and analyzing skills," and "it's funny and there's so much to do!" And you don't have to wait for the next season to enjoy this adventure!

Good thing this title includes all three of the original Mass Effect games for only $38, plus lots of bonus content like extra weapons and armor. It’s even been remastered to look great on your 4K TV!

One player says “The graphics are amazing. Shepard looks great and the controls are so much better. This is a must-have for any Mass Effect fan. Vikings are cool, and we’re not just saying that because they live way up north! This epic title lets you live the life of a Norseman… or Norsewoman (you get to choose your gender). You can go on raids, fight vicious battles and experience a grand, sweeping saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe. But you don’t need to be familiar with the series to get started — in fact, this game is a great starting point for this immersive series, with a fun history lesson to boot!

Gamers certainly love it, with one shopper calling it “one of the best open world games I have played.” That’s because “there is so much to do in this game, so many ways to build your character, so many ways to engage in combat.
