From groceries to clothing to items for the home, you can find almost anything at Walmart without breaking the bank. And now the mega retailer is expanding its repertoire by offering two socially-distanced summer entertainment activities perfect for the whole family.

Mark your calendars this August for Walmart's pop-up drive-in theater program. Plus, the retailer's virtual summer camp will be open for guest on July 8. Celebrity camp counselors like Neil Patrick Harris and Drew Barrymore are sure to keep your family entertained for hours via touch screen.

Walmart's Drive-Theater Program

Starting next month, Walmart will transform 160 of its store parking lots into contact-free, drive-in movie theaters in partnership with Tribeca Enterprises. Across the country, families will be able to drive up for screenings of popular titles and special appearances from filmmakers and celebrities.

Just like at the theater, concessions will be available for families to munch on — plus, they'll even be delivered right to your vehicle. Movie-goers can also enjoy curbside pickup on all the essentials before the film starts.

While the details are still being ironed out (including the list of participating locations) the program is slated to run until October. Those interested can find out more information at walmartdrive-in.com closer to August.

In addition to transforming select parking lots into outdoor cinemas, Walmart has also created a virtual summer camp experience for kids in collaboration with CAMP stores.

Known as Camp by Walmart, the program will feature big-name celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Neil Patrick Harris, LeBron James, Idina Menzel, and Todd Oldham to serve as counselors and lead kids through a variety of activities from arts and crafts to fitness.

Starting July 8, kids can access up to 50 free camp experiences through the Walmart app with their families. Throughout the summer, 200 experiences are expected to roll out such as "The Great Family Challenge," where Drew Barrymore takes families through a fun, camp-themed makeup tutorial.

Neil Patrick Harris, who holds the rank of Head Camp Counselor, will also have a lineup of challenges perfect for the whole family like "Neil’s Charades" and Musical Mad Libs.

To keep families active, LeBron James will guide campers through mental and physical activities. Meanwhile, Idina Menzel will help campers practice their singing before the talent show known as "Skills Camp." Designer Todd Oldham will lead "Smarts and Crafts," a virtual activity that will teach campers about creativity through the lens of arts, crafts and fashion

To access this experience, customers can download the Walmart app and look for “Camp by Walmart” in the app’s Services tab from the bottom navigation. Those who already have the app installed may have to update it.
