Walmart Is Selling an 'Elegant' $17 Metal Candle Lantern That Looks So Similar to a Pottery Barn Style 5x the Price

You know that feeling when you walk into someone’s home and they have the nicest decor items, and you wonder how much they spent? Sometimes things just look so nice that you think there’s no way you could afford it. But luckily, retailers like Walmart have been killing the home and garden space recently. They’re selling items that look high-end for an affordable price. That includes one of the best-selling lantern candle holders, which look like a Pottery Barn style five times the price.
This lovely home decor piece is none other than the Better Homes & Gardens Metal Candle Holder Lantern at Walmart. It comes in the color black and three sizes, with two in stock at the moment: small and medium. The small is 5 inches wide by 14 inches tall for $14.44, and the medium is 6 inches wide at the base and 18 inches tall for $17.48. These lanterns are made from black iron and have clear glass panes around their four sides with a door and latch to put a candle inside.

Each lantern weighs about 5 lbs, so they have a good, substantial feel to them. They are also made for six-inch high pillar candles, which aren’t included with the lantern. You can even buy one of those LED pillar candles too for instant light thanks to a remote.
As we stated before, this Better Homes & Gardens metal lantern candle holder is marked as a best-seller on Walmart’s site and has over 900 reviews and a 4.4-star rating. One reviewer wrote that this lantern was “simply elegant” and “a lovely addition” to their home decor. And another shopper wrote that it is a “well-made decorative lantern.”
"This small black lantern is excellent quality,” they wrote in their review. “When you pick it up by the hook at the top, it has some weight to it. The metal is rigid, the seams are finished and smooth... I’m already considering buying the medium and large-size lanterns to add to this one and display them together on my mantle."
Popular hack and shopping Instagram influencer, @LORAfied, posted these lanterns in one of her videos, pointing out that they’re a great Pottery Barn lookalike product. The product she’s referring to is Pottery Barn’s Caleb Handcrafted Metal Outdoor Lantern. They come in three colors, including black, and in four sizes: mini (15 inches tall), small (21.5 inches tall), large (36 inches tall) and XL (42.25 inches tall). The closet to Walmart’s medium size lantern is their small, which is usually $99 but is on sale for $89 at the time of reporting.

They have a very similar design to the Better Homes & Gardens lanterns except with an angled, pointed top (Walmart’s is rounded). They’re made of aluminum and don’t seem to have glass window panes, they’re open. They’re also made for indoor and outdoor use.
While we’re not in the 1800s and don’t need lanterns around, Walmart’s Better Homes & Gardens Metal Candle Holder Lantern is such a nice item to place in your home. Along with the fact that it looks so similar to another candle holder that’s five times the price, Walmart’s lanterns are more than worth a shot.
