WalletHub Named This Virginia City the Best Big City to Live in for 2019

Love the city life? Then Virginia Beach may be an excellent place to plant your roots.

A new WalletHub survey named Virginia Beach the best large city to live in in the country, with Austin and Seattle trailing closely behind in second and third place, respectively. To crown the winners WalletHub analyzed America's 62 largest cities on 56 indicators of quality of life ranging from job opportunities and weather to life expectancy and crime rates. Factors were given different weights based on their perceived importance. See the full rankings and methodology here.

Last year, SafeWise.com, a website that reviews home safety products and home security options, named Virginia Beach the safest metropolitan area in the country.

Considering making the move? Here's another incentive to add to your list: Virginia Beach is getting a major sand replenishment this summer to help safeguard the city from hurricanes. For more on that, check out our video below.
