The Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste Hotel is Coming to Costa Rica
Hilton’s luxury portfolio is currently constructing the new Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste Hotel in Playa Penca, Costa Rica. The hotel is set to open in 2025. It will feature 190 rooms and 25 residences, alongside offering wellness experiences that connect guests to the local community. Its amenities include a holistic wellness center, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a movement studio, outdoor yoga spaces, and thermal and training pools.
The Location
The Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste Hotel will sit in one of the world’s rare “blue zones.” Blue Zones are areas where their inhabitants are renowned for their extended and healthier lives. The project involves collaboration between Revolution, Cacique Investors LLC and Costa Rican developer Garnier & Garnier.
To safeguard local wildlife, the project incorporates wildlife corridors. The hotel will utilize electric cars to minimize its environmental impact. The property places a strong emphasis on sustainable luxury. The property will integrate its architecture harmoniously with the environment, native plants and animals. Guests also will be able to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings.
In an interview with local outlets, Philippe Garnier, President, and CEO of Garnier & Garnier, said that the opening of the Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste Hotel in the region, after years of design and conceptualization, is going to position the country as a premier global tourist destination.
According to Hilton’s press release, this hotel signifies an achievement for Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand. It welcomes an esteemed new location to its portfolio of over 30 exclusive properties worldwide. This addition further strengthens the brand’s iconic resort presence in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Costa Rica’s Vibrant Environment
Situated a mere 25-minute drive from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport, Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste Hotel provides easy access to two nearby towns in Costa Rica. The property also offers direct entry to Playa Penca. This beach provides an intimate environment perfect for a variety of watersports. Playa Penca also serves as a gateway to the vibrant tropical rainforest surroundings of the region.
Guests can anticipate exceptional culinary experiences, including a signature restaurant and bar, a store and an ice cream parlor.
