Since its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in June, fans have been wanting to know when the recorded version of Waitress: The Musical would be hitting the big screen for all to enjoy.

Bleecker Street has now revealed that it will finally screen in theaters, but for five nights only, starting December 7.

Featuring Sara Bareilles, Drew Gehling, Charity Dawson, Dakin Matthews, Christopher Fitzgerald, Eric Anderson and Anastacia McCleskey, Waitress: The Musical follows Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance at escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. Through the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to take a long-abandoned dream off the shelf. Waitress celebrates the power of friendship, dreams, the family we choose and the beauty of a well-baked pie.

Waitress: The Musical ran on Broadway for 33 previews and 1,544 regular performances from 2016 to 2020 before a brief restaging in 2021.
