Wait, Why Aren’t Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello at the Grammys Right Now?

If you, like me, are seriously invested in the goings-on of one Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, you’re probably wondering why they’re not at the Grammys right now. It’s a great question! Especially considering the awards show is mostly virtual, so theoretically, the two of them could attend from anywhere. Here’s why they’re not there.

The short answer? It’s because neither of them are nominated for awards this year. And because of COVID-19, the Grammys invite list is veryyyy exclusive this year. Like, if you aren’t (1) a nominee, (2) a presenter, or (3) a performer, you’re probably not going. The two were nominated last year for “Señorita,” but this year they were left off the nominations list. A crime! Truly!

What is even more upsetting about this is that the two give such good performances together, so it would have been absolutely iconic to have them around for the night. Remember when they steamed up our screens at the American Music Awards?

I still don’t feel like I’ve fully recovered, TBH. Here’s hoping the world goes back to normal AND these two release some more steamy tunes so we can recreate this next year.
