Wait, Where Are All the Guys in These Abortion Protest Pics?

From Cosmopolitan

Recently, American women have watched as lawmakers around the country have attacked abortion rights in extreme ways.

Last week, there were those 25 white Republican men in the Alabama Senate who approved a bill that would make abortions illegal after six weeks-before most women even know they're pregnant. Meanwhile, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky and Mississippi have all proposed "heartbeat bills," which would make abortions illegal after a fetal heartbeat is detected, and Missouri's governor is expected to sign legislation that would also criminalize the procedure that 1 in 4 women need. The flurry of anti-choice legislation likely won't stop there.

Naturally, women are pissed about this, and they're protesting as part of the National Day of Action to Stop the Bans, organized by more than 50 groups including Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and Sister Song. #StoptheBans demonstrations are scheduled to take place today in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York, and well, nearly everywhere. The message: Roe v Wade is law-and back off my uterus.

But the weird thing about this is that for every woman who gets an abortion, there is a man inextricably involved in the procedure, right? That's just science. So like...where are all the dudes in these pics? Why aren't they protesting these abortion bans, as well? Don't they want the women in their lives to have the right to choose? Something about this doesn't quite add up.

Okay, sure, there are some men participating in today's protests (we see you and we thank you!), but the ratio is shockingly off. Again, for every woman who gets pregnant, there's a guy that got her pregnant, so shouldn't these protests theoretically be a 50/50 gender split?

Please, allow me to take you on a "Where's Waldo?" type journey to see if we can find some men who give a sh*t about abortion rights in this country.

Hmmm, nothing to see here.

Does a male journalist count? No? Okay, moving on.

{% endverbatim %}

Weird. Not seeing any men here!

{% verbatim %}

{% endverbatim %}

Not many here, either.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley showed up today. Why didn't the men?

{% verbatim %}

{% endverbatim %}

Thankful for all the male police officers keeping people safe today, but they don't count either, unfortunately. Let's continue on our quest.

A man? A single man? Bueller? Bueller?

Hm. That's so weird! Cosmopolitan will update this post when more men decide to show up to support women's rights.
