But one thing that remains the same? How in love these two seem. Truly, no town in Florida is safe from their PDA and neither is Instagram…especially if you follow Shawn and Camila fan accounts, which I, an adult woman, definitely do.

In a new interview with Variety, Camila talks about what falling in love feels like. “Falling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles. I fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment,” she says, not naming names. If we could guess, it would be Shawn she’s talking about (duh), but of course, they’ve yet to outright confirm the dating rumors.

Camila also talks about what it was like to pair up with Shawn for that wild “Señorita” duet. “I’ve known Shawn for such a long time, and it’s so much fun getting to work and do things with somebody who means a lot to you,” she says. “Somebody who means a lot to you” as in a boyfriend??? Before Shawn and Camila walked the VMAs red carpet (separately, sigh), they had to get ready for the big show! Vogue followed Camila as she picked out her dress and got all dolled up for her big performance.

In the Vogue vid, Shawn pops by to say hi to Camila before their steamy duet (around the 9:00 minute mark), and Camila talks about how “Señorita” came to be in the first place (around 7:10).

“It must have been last summer when he sent me the idea for the song, and he was like, ‘Oh my gosh, do you want to do this with me?’ And I thought it was super cool,” Camila said.

“It was literally, like, a few months of back and forth, but I couldn’t—I literally lost sleep over it, because I was like, ‘My god. I think I do want to do it, or maybe I don’t, whatever.’ So there just came a point where we were like, let’s just go in the studio. Let’s just sing it and see how we feel, and if it feels right, we do it, and we don’t, no pressure, it’s all good. Yeah, we went in the studio and figured it out and then filmed the video a week and a half after.”

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Also, Camila calls her white “wedding dress” VMAs look “very romantic,” saying that’s “kind of where I am in life right now.”

Welp, in an update that you probably don’t want but are going to get anyway—Shawn and Camila are basically kissing licking each other’s faces on Instagram like unhinged puppies in love. And no, that is not an exaggeration.

Shawn and Camila decided to laugh in the face of their kissing criticizers by showing the entire world video proof of exactly how they kiss each other...kinda. In the video, Shawn says, “So we saw on Twitter and stuff you guys saying stuff about the way we’re kissing and how it looks weird, like we kiss like fish.” Camila basically agrees and is like, “It really hurt our feelings.” So after that, Shawn presents us with the evidence. “So we just want to show you how we really kiss,” he says, mere seconds before Camila slides her tongue over Shawn’s mouth. It’s...a lot!

For some reason, I and the other 40 million Instagram viewers cannot seem to look away. At the very least, it does poke a hole in the “Shawn and Camila are fake” rumors! Right?

Shawn and Camila spend the day in West Hollywood together...in Halloween masks because September is basically October, which is basically HALLOWEEN, right? Shawn wears a creepy baby/alien one and Camila picks a unicorn.

MEANWHILE, that same day, Shawn is spotted (solo) at an airport in Los Angeles, where he gets grilled about his relationship in a Backgrid video you can see here.

The person tailing him starts out by saying, “You and Camila give the term ‘I just threw up in my mouth’ a whole new meaning,” which, ouch, dude! Shawn keeps it classy in his response, saying, “It was a little bit of a joke,” referring to that funny Instagram video from the week before.

The whole interaction is a bit cringey...but Shawn does say he’s known Camila’s parents for a long time and they get along, which is cool. He also says, “We’re definitely not a publicity stunt,” when the guy asking him Qs brings up that conspiracy theory.

Before publicly professing her love for Shawn, Camila gave a little bit of backstory on their relationship. “There was a period where we didn’t hang out as much just because we were both busy, and this song was really fun because we got to just hang out again like we did on the song we did before, ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’” she said, “which was when we got really close....We were like, ‘Oh, yay, we get to be pals and just hang out!’” And then “Señorita” came out and Shawn and Camila were no longer just friends anymore, LOL.
