Waffle House Vs. TikTok: Some Locations Are Banning Off-Menu TikTok Hacks
It appears that TikTok has finally met its match. Select Waffle House locations are asking diners to take their hacks elsewhere now that many people have gotten wind of the latest viral restaurant hack: the Waffle House sandwich. A behemoth of a sandwich, the off-menu item features a trio of eggs, meats, and cheese all sandwiched between two large waffles.
Given that FEMA uses Waffle Houses—and whether they're open or closed—as an informal measurement of the severity of a storm, we shouldn't be terribly surprised at how quickly the restaurant struck back at the hack.
Some Waffle House locations have even put up signs demanding that customers stick to the menu. "Order from the menu we are not making anything you saw on TikTok," read a sign featured in TikToker @officialgodbodycash's video.

A photo shared by @GAFollowers on Twitter shows a similar sign. This particular note was posted on a door or window and reads, "Order from the menu! We're not making nothing you've seen on TikTok (no waffle sandwiches!)."
In addition to a handful of Waffle House locations denying customers a waffle sandwich, one restaurant employee informed those curious about the hack that the sandwich will cost you much more than the average menu item.
"Yeah, that sandwich gonna cost y'all about $20. So stick to a Texas Bacon Cheesesteak Melt or a Texas Sausage Egg & Cheese Melt because yeah, it's about $20," she revealed.
Despite Waffle House tightening up on off-menu items due to viral hacks, some people have come to the restaurant's defense.

feel like there are safer things to do than ask waffle house workers to make you a tiktok sandwich

This Waffle House Sandwich situation is just another example that there are some that truly live and die by anything they see on TikTok.
