Waffle House teases return of fan-favorite waffle – but it won’t stick around

A Waffle House fan favorite is making a comeback, but not for long.

Strawberry waffles returned Monday, April 8, at participating Waffle House restaurants nationwide, according to the Georgia-based restaurant chain.

“The sweet taste of summertime. Strawberry Waffles are back!” Waffle House announced on Instagram.

The seasonal favorite will be available for a limited time, though Waffle House didn’t say how long. It joins a lineup of other menu classics, including the pecan waffle and the chocolate chip waffle.

McClatchy News reached out the restaurant chain for more information April 11 and was awaiting a response.

News of the waffles’ return was welcomed by fans anxious to know where to find them.

Replying to an Instagram user, Waffle House said the strawberry waffles are “available at every (U.S.) location except for 5 restaurants in Kentucky.”

“Okayyy gotta drive 3.5 hrs to Indianapolis NOW,” someone commented.

“I haven’t had the strawberry waffles since 2007,” another user recalled.

Waffle House boasts more than 1,900 restaurants in 25 states and was recently ranked among the best places to get a waffle, according to Eat This, Not That.

“For a little bit of sweet and savory, order up the restaurant’s chocolate chip waffles,” according to the food website. “Customers can even add additional toppings like pecans or peanut butter chips.”
