Volunteers needed for A Brush with Kindness event in Hornell

HORNELL, N.Y. (WETM) – The AmeriCorps of Steuben County, along with Steuben County Habitat for Humanity, is looking for volunteers to help with its community project, A Brush with Kindness, to support homeowners who are in need in the Hornell area.

A Brush with Kindness is a volunteer event where members of the community come together to help revitalize neighborhood homes by helping with landscaping, painting and other exterior home repairs.

Steuben County to receive over $5M for Head Start programs

The event will take place on May 18, but sign-ups to volunteer for the community project are over on May 7. You can sign up to volunteer on the Habitat for Humanity website or by emailing info@habitatcorning.org.

Volunteers will meet at Concern for Youth located at 76 East Main Street in Hornell at 8:30 a.m. on May 18. Water, snacks and tools will be provided and the projects will continue until 2:30 p.m.
