Well, it looks like we're at an interesting place in The Voice history. After 23 seasons on the series, Blake Shelton is no longer sitting in his iconic red chair as a coach. Though viewers were upset over the loss, it's not over yet for the NBC competition series.

Season 24 is quickly approaching and there are already many surprises. Taking over for Blake is fellow country superstar Reba McEntire, who fans first saw in season 1 of the singing show and came on last season as a mega mentor. What's more, three veteran coaches are returning — bringing laughs, onstage antics and a whole lot of new talent.

Here's what to know about The Voice season 24, including release date, coaches, spoilers and more.

Will there be a season 24 of The Voice?

On May 15, NBC announced that The Voice received a season 24 renewal. The news first came about ahead of the season 23 finale, with the show's social team posting an Instagram video revealing who would coach the competitors this time around.

"Welcome your new fall Coach line-up! @reba, @johnlegend, @niallhoran, and @gwenstefani," read the caption.

Shortly after, Reba posted on Instagram how thrilled she was to be joining The Voice in a full-time role. "There’s a new Coach in town!" she wrote. "See you all this Fall!"

When Reba spoke on the subject during the Top 8 live episode, she told Voice host Carson Daly how excited she felt.

"I'm looking forward to being here with all of y'all," she said on the singing competition series. "You treated me so nicely. I appreciate the hospitality so much that you showed me earlier. To be able to come and form my own team, I'm so looking forward to it."

Will The Voice be back in the fall 2023?

Yes, new episodes of The Voice will return later this year in the fall. Although there isn't a release date for The Voice season 24, NBC confirmed that the longtime series will air on Monday nights from 8 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET and Tuesday nights from 9 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET, per the network's fall schedule.

Who are the coaches for The Voice season 24?

With Reba being the novice coach this season, she will join veterans John Legend, Gwen Stefani and recent newcomer Niall Horan to form the quartet of seasoned guides.

Fans are already familiar with Niall, as the former One Direction band member made his debut as a coach on season 23 in spring 2023. He also managed to claim victory during his first run, helping singer Gina Miles clinch the winning title.

When Niall announced that he planned on coming back for season 24, he shared the news with a video on Instagram. "I loved it so much, I’m doing it again!" he wrote on May 15. "See you Fall 2023 on @nbcthevoice ✌️."

After taking a season off, John will also return to his red chair to try and coach the show's next winner. He previously won season 16 and appeared consecutively through season 22. Before his longtime stint as coach, he also provided advice for Adam Levine's team during the Battles in season 10.

Additionally, Gwen is coming back as a coach after stepping away for season 23. The No Doubt front lady began her tenure on The Voice in season 7 before returning for seasons 9, 12, 17, 19 (which she won) and 22. She was also an advisor for her husband Blake's team in season 10. This also marks the first time she won't be a coach alongside him.

Will Kelly Clarkson return to The Voice season 24?

Presently, there's no word whether Kelly will make an appearance this season. While there isn't an official reason for why she isn't coming back as coach for season 24, Variety announced that her daytime TV series The Kelly Clarkson Show is moving to New York City instead of staying in Los Angeles (which is where The Voice tapes).

As for the decision to change up the soundstage, she explained during an appearance on TalkShopLive that it had to do with her loved ones. It turns out that she was set on relocating — even if that meant canceling her talk show. Luckily, NBC supported her request.

"Being isolated and so far from your family, that’s not good for anyone. My family is East Coast, they’re North Carolina based," she said on the platform. "So, it was one of those things where I just had to [do it]."

Before revealing that she was moving across the country, The Voice fans believed they spotted a clue that Kelly might not be coming back to the NBC series anytime soon when she posted a heartfelt tribute to her makeup and hair team.

"Thank you so much to my incredible glam squad @RobertRamosProd, @cdicelove13, and @gloglomakeup for making me feel beautiful for 9 seasons of the voice! I love y’all," she tweeted on May 25, a few days after the season 23 finale.

Reacting to the message, folks immediately took to her comments with questions. "Say it isn’t so!!! You’re not leaving us!! We love 💕 you on the Voice! We watch your show! 😢😘💞🎼🎤🌹," one person wrote. "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN KELLY??????" another added. "Are you leaving for good??? [Please] say no," a different follower said.

We'll have to see if this really was Kelly's subtle way of saying goodbye to The Voice forever.
