Vogue Runway’s Top 9: Our Most Trending Instagram Posts of 2019

We’re in reflection mode here at Vogue Runway, and the highs and lows of 2019 are perfectly organized on our Instagram feed. Unsurprisingly, the photos our 5 million followers liked, commented on, and shared the most became the biggest stories of the year.

So what stood out? In first place was our video of Issey Miyake’s dresses in motion, though Ariana Grande’s viral August cover also made our Top 9. Plenty of celebrities got your double-taps, in fact, like Katy Perry in Moschino at the Met Gala and Jennifer Lopez in a mirrored Tom Ford ensemble at the Oscars. Still, it was Karl Lagerfeld’s death that feels the most significant on this list. You left hundreds of heartfelt comments, and a whopping 105,484 of you (and counting) liked the image. It’s difficult to imagine another designer having a career like Lagerfeld’s—he spent 54 years at Chanel and 36 at Fendi—but let’s hope 2020 brings us a new wave of talents to rally behind.

Scroll through all of 2019’s most trending moments below, and be sure to follow @VogueRunway to stay updated on our coverage every day.
