Vogue ’s Collaboration with Shinola is the Chicest Bicycle on the Road

Of all the holiday-friendly gifts on offer from the Vogue Shop—which, after a pop-up appearance at this year’s Forces of Fashion conference, launched online just yesterday—the most cheery and bright comes care of Shinola, that Detroit-based purveyor of timepieces, bags, jewelry, and other luxury goods.

World, meet the Vogue x Shinola Bixby, an elegant three-speed bicycle made to move. Painted an exclusive shade of “Vogue Red,” it features a handsome, mahogany leather saddle (sized for women), a wicker basket, and a leather luggage tag with Vogue’s name embossed on it.

Intrigued? We’d advise that you act quickly: The bike exists in a limited quantity—ten.

“The Bixby was already the most stylish bicycle in our offering,” says Sky Yaeger, Director of Product Development for Shinola Bicycles, “[but it’s] even more so with this added Vogue flair.” Hand-fabricated at a factory in southeastern Wisconsin, the Bixby, like Shinola’s other two bike models, is assembled in Detroit, where its cruiser-inspired steel frame is tested for lightness and precision—two essentials for easy city riding.

And don’t for a moment be dissuaded by the coming winter weather. As one Vogue editor has keenly pointed out, biking in the cold, for many reasons, is actually great. So, as the bike lanes begin to empty out, could there be any better time to take a spin on the most fashion-forward two-wheeler in town?
