Vivienne Westwood just got greener: The designer and eco-crusader said 90 percent of this collection is made from materials that have a reduced impact on the environment. They include a printed denim made with an organic, undyed cotton base sourced from Candiani, the innovative Italian mill that’s also a favorite of Stella McCartney’s.
The look: Perky punk. The collection was filled with easy shapes, and all of the Westwood signatures — loose drapes of fabric across the bust and shoulders of a minidress; men’s wear plaids and checks for snappy topcoats and suits, and a lovely rose pink popping across knits, velvet cargo pants and a matching jacket.

Quote of note: “We started by looking at ‘Daphnis and Chloe, 1743,’ by the French Rococo painter François Boucher, in London’s Wallace Collection. It became the main print for the season — with the sky and pastoral scenes reflected through the colors and fabrics.”
Standout pieces: The clashing two-tone check topcoat, pink velvet suit, oversized camel peacoat and bits of Boucher’s erotic, pastoral painting layered onto tough-looking bustiers and jeans.
Takeaway: Lots of practical, classic pieces awash in a painterly color palette.
